I started riding at the age of five-my mum asked me if I wanted to go for a riding lesson or a ballet lesson, I chose horses-to this day I still think my parents bank balance would have been happier if I had chosen ballet; however, one ride and I was hooked!

When I was 12 I was lucky enough for my parents to be able to afford for me to have my first pony; Amazon of the Forest. 'Ami' was a wild pony off the New Forest (my dad thought that he had found a bargain of a pony-only problem was that she came with her 'wild' tendencies!) that thought me a lot. Unfortunately she only lasted me a year as I grew quite quickly, but we did Pony Club camp together and local shows. She taught me the patience required when having horses, and made me and my mum a specialist team in catching the uncatchable! Ami won me my first ever red rosette, when being in a strong local show riding pony class she beat all of the 'made up' ponies.

Next was my first taste of the 'unusual'. We found Argent, my gorgeous liver chestnut Arab, (aka Silver Sebastian) at our livery yard. He arrived as a very poor 3 year old, afraid of everyone and everything. We purchased him after the departure of Amazon and found that he required a lot of time and patience. Argent was afraid of white boards, poles, leaves, everything, but he LOVED to show off! We did lots of local showing and progressed to County showing, where our proudest moment was coming 4th at Newbury show in the ridden Arab Class. He not only competed in Arab classes, but also riding pony classes where his immaculate behaviour and showmanship would see him beat off some tough competition-this gave me the drive to push the 'unusual' and compete against the 'thoroughbreds' for the job.

As with Ami, I outgrew Argent, but due to his rough start in life would not sell him, so he went on loan to a lovely family-where he still is today. So, my next horse had to be a 'loaner'. Introducing Ardent rival- my first taste of the Ex racehorse. Rival was a stunner! He would be a Calvin Klein model if her were human; sadly though racing had cooked his brain a little too much. He had travelled from new Zealand, to Hong Kong, to Singapore, then to England, and by the time I had him on loan at 9 years old he had moved 5 times in 6 months within the UK. Our biggest achievement in one year was me only falling off once and a completion of a whole dressage test- for him and me it was a mile stone. Rival is now retired to the field as this is where he was happiest.

With Rival I lost a lot of my confidence so the criteria for the next horse was to be sane, sensible, and to be a enjoyable horse-if all I did was hack again then that was no problem. What did I end up with...a chestnut ex racehorse by the name of Mister Glum!

Glum has seen me through my GCSE's. A Levels and University. From my experience of 'the different factor' with Argent, and Glum not really wanting to jump, Glum and I set out for the world of dressage. I had always been interested in the dressage way of going due to my early showing days; however, it was Glum’s trainability that got me hooked. Glum and I have had so much fun standing out in the dressage young crowd. My highlights with him are;

After completing my degree in 2009 I decided that I wanted the best training, so I applied to several yards in Germany to go and work. I was privileged to be asked to go and work at Monica Theodorescu's stable yard in Warendorf, Germany. Throughout my ten month stay I travelled Europe with her Grand Prix and small tour horses. I was lucky enough to ride a variety of horses from Novice through to grand Prix, some of whom had attended Olympic Games.

In September 2010 I returned home, with Glum, to set myself up in the UK. I still travel back to Germany to work as Monica's travelling groom.
